Lizzie is an 11 year old 7th grader at Glenelg Country School. Lizzie is an honor roll/high honor roll student and a member of the student council. This year Lizzie was nominated by her school to join the People to People Ambassador program, a program that is designed to reinforce leadership skills in children. Lizzie speaks three languages and she received a Spanish award at her school. She also received several honorable mentions at a Barlow Public Speaking Contest.
Lizzie enjoys sports and she plays soccer and lacrosse at her school. She also enjoys horseback riding and she hopes to volunteer at the Therapeutic Riding Center. In her spare time she plays the piano and takes acting and modeling lessons at John Rober Powers. For winning Miss Preteen Maryland International 2009, Lizzie received a three year scholarship at John Robert Powers. Lizzie has participated in a few fashion shows that raised money for charitable causes. Lizzie believes that helping other people and making a difference in their life is a privilege that she finally is old enough to have.
She is proud to be a volunteer at the House of Ronald McDonald and the Johns Hopkins House for Children. Lizzie is also a preteen spokesperson for Believe in Tomorrow National Children's Foundation. She is always happy to give her time to help others; whether it is making sandwiches for the homeless, collecting school supplies for needy children, participating in walks for cures, or helping with fundraising events.
Lizzie believes that participating in the Miss Preteen Maryland International Pageant gave her an extra incentive to be a responsible and caring member of our community and she is proud of her Community Service Award that she received at the pageant.
